How To Save In The Run Up To Christmas

With Christmas just round the corner it’s a time where we all hit panic stations with finances and getting the most for our money. So we thought we would compile a lists of what we as a family do to save money.

  1. Prepare – It may sound simple but so many families leave it until last minute to shop and end up paying more for the top toys. We started shopping in September and found this helped us out greatly especially getting Olivia a Hatchimal!
  2. Christmas Food – We always use every single last piece of the Christmas dinner over the following days after Christmas. Turkey sandwiches are the traditional boxing day snack, but we like to even make soup from our leftovers (post coming soon).
  3. Only Buy What You Need – We all over spend on our loved one’s over the festive period and while we love to relax and treat ourselves as a family, it is important to budget and not leave yourself in debt by January.
  4. Boxing Day Sales – Yes, you guessed it we even start Christmas shopping a year early as soon as the boxing day sales start! Especially if we don’t see family straight away we have brought their presents in the sales (naughty!).
